The bodies of twin teenage boys, kidnapped five years earlier, are discovered. Booth and Brennan follow the trail of a notorious serial killer, known as the Grave Digger. His M.O. is to kidnap and bury his victims, then ask for a ransom. If the ransom isn’t followed, the victims are left to die. During the investigation, Brennan and a fellow colleague become the latest victims. They are forced to solve their own kidnapping from an underground grave.

Bones Star David Boreanaz Welcomes Baby Girl
David Boreanaz’s bundle of joy has arrived. Wife Jaime Bergman delivered the couple’s second child, daughter Bardot Vita Boreanaz, on Monday, PEOPLE has learned exclusively.
Baby Bardot weighed in at 7 lbs., 14 oz., and joins big brother Jaden Rayne, 7, at home.
The birth comes as a relief to Bones star Boreanaz, who had been staying close to home in case Bergman, who had been on bed-rest, went into labor.
“I must maintain a 20-mile radius. I cannot travel beyond that,” the former Angel star, 40, told PEOPLE recently. “If I do, I’ll freak out – I have to be there when the baby comes.”
Now that Bardot has arrived, the couple can breathe easy.
“We’ve been trying to have another baby for a couple of years now so we are beyond excited,” Bergman, 33, recently told PEOPLE’s Celebrity Baby Blog. “We’re over the moon.”
The new season of Bones will premiere Sept. 17 at 8 p.m. EST on Fox.

Bones is back.
After last season’s frustrating finale, Bones returns next month with a heartwarming and very sweet season premiere that has all of the Booth-Bones chemistry you could want, along with outstanding squint comedy, a rollicking good mystery and a guest gig by Cyndi Lauper.
We just chatted up series stars Emily Deschanel, David Boreanaz and Michaela Conlin and got them to spill on the season to come…
Booth’s Brain: After last season’s coma drama, the big issue is Booth’s brain. Is he really himself? And if he has residual feelings for Bones, are those feelings genuine or are they symptoms of brain damage? Emily tells us, “Booth’s character is kind of confused about our relationship when he wakes up, and that adds a whole new element to our relationship.” Or as David puts it, in his own inestimable way, “The biggest thing coming out of last season is that my mind was shattered, and I’ve got to get it back. These genuine feelings that I have for her, I really think they’re true.” Psssst…they are, darn it!
Mondo Flirtation: The main characters never can seem to seal the deal, but that won’t stop them from continuing to make goo-goo eyes at each other. As David Boreanaz adorably tells us: “I don’t care about the crime-solving. I just care about my relationship with her. The other stuff just happens. I don’t care about the bones and the crime, I care about what they’re doing over the crime scene.”
Clothes Make the Man? In the first few episodes, the series is very preoccupied with getting Booth back into gear, and part of that involves getting Booth back into his supersuit. (Fox even included a pair of funky rainbow Booth-style socks with the season five press kit!) As Boreanaz puts it, “I’m not dressed 100 percent because I don’t know how to dress in my Booth costume—Booth’s batsuit, whatever you call it. Yeah, that’s a utility belt, it’s a cocky belt buckle.” But don’t worry. We’re pretty sure he’ll get all the pieces together soon enough.
Yay! The best tidbit we got, however, comes from the divine Ms. Deschanel, who tells us, “There absolutely will be more kissing [between Bones and Booth].” Whoo-hoo!
Hodgela! Other good news coming out of this season? Angela and Hodgins’ long separation may finally be coming to an end. The beautiful Michaela Conlin tells us, “I hear [Jack and Angela] are going to be reconciling soon! Hopefully they’re on their way to making it back toward each other.” Whoo!
Last But Not Least: Forgive us for one second while we get up on our soapbox about Bones, a wonderful and charming series that’s just been treading the same romantic waters for much too long.
Bones premieres Sept. 17 at 9 p.m. on Fox.
‘Bones’ Showrunner Hints on More Details for Season 5
All the promos, previews and spoilers for Bones have made the long wait for season 5 all the more difficult simply because the suspense is killing me. It also hasn’t been easy knowing that Brennan ran off to Guatemala while Booth remains in a state of confusion, and that Angela will end her vow of celibacy with someone we all know. Now we still have about four weeks of agony before Booth and Brennan returns to our TV screens on September 17 so I can just imagine all the questions running through your mind. Luckily, Bones show runner and executive producer Hart Hanson has addressed some of these concerns without giving away too much to spoil your enjoyment of the upcoming season.
As mentioned in the Bones season 5 preview, the season opener will kick off weeks later and after Brennan returns from a trip to Guatemala. This alone makes me wonder why on earth would Brennan leave Booth at a time when he needs her most. But that’s not the case, according to Hart, who says, “We’ve set up a few times that when she’s really miserable she goes down there [Guatemala] and identifies victims of the genocide down there and there are so many still remaining unidentified. So when she’s really miserable she just throws herself into that. I promise you, Brennan did not abandon Booth. Watch the season opener; you’ll see.”
As for Angela’s much awaited storyline, Hanson of course remains tightlipped about who she’s hooking up with. However, he doesn’t want to rule out any male character on the show, and that includes Booth.
“If you remember from last year, she was going to do six months of being celibate at Sweet’s advice, so just today she broke her stretch of celibacy… I’m not saying with whom,” Hanson teased. “Someone we know. I told [Michaela Conlin] about fifteen minutes ago and she went [makes excited gasping noise]. So it was a good reaction!”
